Recreational & Educational Tours was originally founded when Rick Klimek decided that the lessons learned in the classroom were not "complete"
and needed to be "brought to life".

Knowing that a teacher's job is in the classroom,
Rick created a service that provide teachers
an easy way to offer travel experiences
to enrich their curriculum.

We provide the opportunity for students to explore some of America's most powerful cities in a controlled, safe and educational environment without the need to remove the teacher from the class.

BELOW IS A LIST OF THE AMENITIES THAT WE PROVIDE ON EACH OF OUR TOURS

Insurance coverage

bullet

R&E Tours carries $2 million in liability protection.

bullet

As a part of America's largest bus corporation, our normal carrier, Lakefront Lines, carries $25 million in liability protection.

bullet

All students and chaperones are covered by an Accident Insurance Policy for medical expenses resulting from accidents or injuries while on the trip.

Round-trip, deluxe motor coach transportation aboard an I.C.C. licensed carrier.

bullet

We commonly work with Lakefront Lines, which is part of Coach America, the nation's largest bus corporation.

bullet

All Lakefront Lines busses are equipped with DVD players and top of the line amenities including air conditioning and restrooms.

bullet

If Lakefront Lines does not have busses available, we will choose a reputable bus company to provide quality, comparable busses.

Hotel accommodations

bullet

A hotel will be chosen to fit the needs of the group.

bullet

All hotels have interior corridors and locked windows for our number one priority: SAFETY!!

bullet

We always choose a reputable hotel in a suburban area of the city (unless a downtown hotel is requested).

bullet

When in Washington, we choose a hotel that is accessible to the H.O.V. lane (High-Occupancy Vehicle) - this has easy access into the city.

Overnight Security at your hotel

bullet

All security is personally screened and supplied by R&E Tours unless your school has requested that we hire security in your destination city.

bullet

The main purpose of overnight security is to ensure the safety of each student throughout the night.

bullet

Security is also able to offer immediate assistance for any concern that may arise so nobody on the tour needs to be awakened.

A Tour Director on each bus to entertain and inform

bullet

Each of our tour directors currently works or has previously worked in education.

bullet

Each has the experience it takes to teach, entertain, and, of course, direct the entire group as needed, especially in our Nation’s Capital.

bullet

Your Tour Director will most likely meet the group before boarding the bus and remain with the group until everyone is off the bus after the tour.

Admissions to all scheduled attractions (Please see the tour details and/or your itinerary for what attractions will be included on your tour)

bullet

The purpose of R&E Tours is to save teachers the time and effort it takes to reserve each aspect of a tour.

bullet

Because of our continued relationship with so many of our suppliers, we are able to easily accommodate many groups.

bullet

We have the knowledge to set up your itinerary in an organized fashion, in order to visit as many sites as possible in each city (especially D.C.)

Meals (Please see the tour details and/or your itinerary for what meals will be included in the cost of your tour)

bullet

It is the school’s decision as to how many of the meals will be included in the cost of the tour.

bullet

A Deluxe Continental Breakfast is almost always included at the hotel.

bullet

We will arrange and include the cost of as many group meals as requested by the group

bullet

We love to include a number of fun, memorable restaurants that provide great food and service for student groups.

bullet

We also may make other stops in which everyone would pay for their meal on their own, often a food court to offer a wide variety of choices.

A group photo for each passenger

bullet

During each overnight tour, a group photo will be taken at the best possible time.

bullet

R&E Tours will distribute one copy to each passenger in a beautiful laminated folder so the memories will last forever!

Digital photos available during the tour **

bullet

This service is only available on select tours, depending on available equipment.

bullet

R&E Tours will select a student to take digital photos throughout the trip.

bullet

During the tour, updates including tour pictures will be uploaded to our page on Twitter.

bullet

At night we will try to upload all of that day's pictures to our Facebook page
**Because of the many technical aspects involved, web pictures may not always be available.
This is not a service that R&E Tours charges extra for.  It is a courtesy.
